ABOUT ‘GOODWEAVER’
約2000年前にインドで生まれた絣の技法は永い歳月をかけて世界中で織られるようになった｡しかし現在､アジアの一部を除き先進国で織り続けているのは日本だけ｡生地づくりには効率が求められ機械化が進み､プリント生地などの安く大量に作れるものが取って代わる｡ただ､どんなに機械が進化しても､手仕事や旧式の織機にしか出せない風合いやプリントにはない独自の雰囲気があるのも確か｡2006年､GOOD WEAVERの前身である＜gi＞を立ち上げ､絣のプロダクトを企画開発｡GOOD WEAVERでは､手の仕事と昔ながらの織機を使い､長く続いた伝統の良さを守りながらも､絣だけにとどまらないオリジナルの生地をつくっている｡2014年にはオリジナルブランド＜Doek＞を立ち上げ､素材重視のものづくりに取り組む｡伝統がもたらす豊かさとは何か､今に繋ぐための模索が続く｡
The Kasuri technique, which originated in India approximately 2,000 years ago, has spread worldwide over the centuries. However, nowadays, other than some parts of Asia, Japan is the only developed country that continues to use this technique. Mechanization has evolved with increasing demands on the efficiency of the production of fabrics. Moreover, there has been a takeover of cheap and mass-produced fabrics such as printed fabrics. However, no matter how advanced these machines have become, there is a texture that can be achieved only through manual work or old-fashioned looms, and a unique feeling that does not exist with printing. In 2006, “Gi”, the predecessor of GoodWeaver was launched, and Kasuri products were planned and developed. At GoodWeaver, manual work and old-fashioned looms are used to create original fabrics that go beyond Kasuri while preserving the good qualities of long-standing traditions. In 2014, the original brand “Doek” was launched, and had a focus on production with an emphasis on materials. The search for connecting the richness of tradition to the present day continues.

SHOES LIKE POTTERY
1873年創業の株式会社ムーンスターのファクトリーブランド＜SHOES LIKE POTTERY＞｡国内でもごく僅かな工場にしか残らない｢ヴァルカナイズ製法｣で製造｡最後に“窯”に入れる行程が焼き物に似ていることから､この名が付いた｡GOOD WEAVERは2011年より＜SHOES LIKE POTTERY＞の国内総代理店として取扱いを開始｡現在に至る｡
“Shoes Like Pottery” is a factory brand of MoonStar Co. Ltd., which was founded in 1873. Manufacturing is done through the vulcanizing method, which is still performed in only a few factories in Japan. The company’s name comes from how final step of placement in a “kiln” resembles that of pottery. From 2011 onwards, GoodWeaver began handling “Shoes Like Pottery” as its sole domestic agent.
DOEK
＜DOEK（ドゥック）＞はGOOD WEAVERのオリジナルブランド｡「doek」とは､日本語の｢ズック｣の語源となったオランダ語｡元々は｢織物｣という意味がある｡＜DOEK＞の命題は“良質な織物でスニーカーを作ること”｡旧式の力織機から生まれる表情豊かなキャンバスから､新しい技術が生みだした現代の生地に至るまで｡素材を引き立てるプロダクトを生み出している｡
“Doek” is the original brand of GoodWeaver. Doek is the Dutch word which is the etymology of the Japanese word zukku (“canvas”). Its original meaning is “textile”. The mission of “Doek” is to “make sneakers with high-quality textiles”. From expressive canvas made from old-fashioned power looms, to modern fabrics made with new technologies. They create products that complement the material.
